The D3 patch notes for patch 1.0.3 have been datamined. Bear in mind that, because they’re datamined, they’re not 100% verified just yet. They still make for interesting reading – particularly the crafting section:
Unofficial Patch 1.0.3.10057 Changes
Changes that aren’t uncoverable through the data files like the Inferno re-tooling, repair costs and drop rate updates are NOT listed below, but WILL be in the patch! Combat
- Frenzied shrines have been updated to no longer provide a crit bonus.
- Siegebreaker, Zoltun Kulle and Belial now have enrage timers and a new ability when they are enraged.

- The attack speed affix has been reduced significantly on all items. The following list outlines all of the previous values and new values for each affix level. This should give you a rough idea of how much IAS you should expect to lose.

We might see this patch as early as this week. Which means, if you’re crafting items below Exalted Grand or combining gems below Flawless Square cease and desist!The changes also include the adjustments to increased attack speed (iAS) and it looks like items are getting a ~ 50% iAS nerf. Whether this applies to all or drops after the patch remains to be seen. Taking legendary items as an example, Blizz claim they can’t do these retroactively, but I wonder does ‘can’t’ in this case mean ‘won’t’ and all iAS items will be nerfed? If not, it may be worth the small gamble of holding onto all your iAS items before this patch – it may be they become rare ‘boosted’ iAS items and will sell for more.
