So, a mere few hours after my last post (Diablo 3 News Release Date Teaser) about Diablo 3 release date teasing, Jay Wilson had a Blizzard community manager post a message on the US boards. There’s no official launch date or a date for the launch date yet. Treat this as a ‘vague time for the date for the launch date’ perhaps… In any case it seems the stars might be finally aligning. I am confident we’ll get some really hefty news soon. Here’s what the body of the message says:
Some things to take away from this message from one of the head honchos on the Diablo 3 team:
- The Diablo 3 build that we, the beta testers get to play (which IS in good shape) is behind the Diablo 3 build that their internal testing teams are playing – which is in better shape
- We can seriously expect a Diablo 3 launch date announcement in the near future – no mention of the trademark Blizzard ‘soon’.
These are both pretty big deals. I mean, look at all the formatting I’ve used on that ‘seriously’ there. That’s how I read it… Okay, okay, it doesn’t mean we’re necessarily closer to Diablo 3′s release and we may just build ourselves up to the same level of excitement in another week, but taken together with today’s earlier post it seems that everything is speeding up.
It doesn’t 100% mean that an announcement is coming in a few days or a week but I’d be surprised if we go as long as 3 weeks without hearing an official date for the launch of Diablo 3! I really would. I could be wrong but I’d be surprised if I am.
I’m excited? Are you? It’s time to get back to the grind stone and work on the post promised in Diablo 3 Auction House Patch 13: Market Challenge. I may need the skills I’m building sooner than we all expect!
